A Stasis is a process during which the qualities and relations of some entity remain unchanged over a temporal interval. It is the process-theoretic counterpart of persistence: nothing about the entity varies while the stasis obtains.

Where it sits in the suite

Stasis is defined in the Common Core Ontologies, a mid-level suite that specialises the top-level categories of Basic Formal Ontology. It is released as part of the maintained, logically consistent CCO release and is reused across the connected ontology modules.
